GIS analysis of land cover changes on the territory of the Prokuplje municipality

Valjarević, Aleksandar • Živković, Dragica • Valjarević, Dragana • Stevanović, Vladica • Golijanin, Jelena

The monitoring of the territory of Prokuplje Municipality was done based on 1 : 25,000 topographic maps in three different time periods (1969, 1974, and 1984) and land cover map in 2012. Analogous topographic maps done in 1969, 1974, and 1984 were used, while in 2012 the land cover map obtained by using CORINE-like approach was used. Topographic maps are developed by aerial campaign, and today they are replaced by satellite images. Topographic maps were scanned, and raster form was transformed t ...

Application of Mann-Kendal (MK) test in trend analysis of air temperature and precipitation: Case of Mačva district (Serbia)

Milentijević, Nikola • Bačević, Nikola • Ristić, Dušan • Valjarević, Aleksandar • Pantelić, Milana • Kićović, Dušan

Recent climate changes cause significant natural and socio-economic consequences. They represent one of the major environmental problems of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Changes in temperature and precipitation play a significant role in understanding climate change issues. They include numerous extreme climatic events such as heat waves, droughts, forest fires and more. Looking at regional differences in temperature and precipitation regime change, Southern Europe, including the Repub ...

Assessment of observed and projected climate changes in Bačka (Serbia) using trend analysis and climate modeling

Milentijević, Nikola • Valjarević, Aleksandar • Bačević, Nikola • Ristić, Dušan • Kalkan, Kristina • Cimbaljević, Marija • Dragojlović, Jovan • Savić, Stevan • Pantelić, Milana

Climate change is one of the largest environmental issues causing hydroclimatological extremes such as floods, droughts, and aridity. The aim of this study is to assess the observed and projected climate changes in Bačka (Serbia). Detailed trend analyses and possible climate scenarios over Bačka has not been presented up to now. In this paper, four data sets were extracted and calculated: mean annual air temperature, mean air temperatures during the vegetation period, mean annual precipitation a ...

On a quarter-symmetric generalized metric connection in a generalized Riemannian manifold

Maksimović, Miroslav

In this talk, we will discuss the generalized Riemannian manifold and introduce a quarter-symmetric connection that preserves the generalized Riemannian metric. We will also observe a quarter-symmetric connection with a special condition and recurrent torsion tensor and examine the properties of linearly independent curvature tensors of generalized Riemannian manifold.

VISUALIZATION OF GEOMETRIC OBJECTS USING PROGRAM PACKAGE MATHEMATICA

Ljajko, Eugen • Najdanović, Marija • Maksimović, Miroslav • Kontrec, Nataša

In geometry teaching, visualization is an indispensable method of work. Its importance is emphasized in the study of abstract theories when the human mind is not capable enough to perceive the regularities determined by complex mathematical formulas without adequate images illustrating the problem. This is also the case with the theory of infinitesimal bending, that has recently been explored and represented with the use of computers. Use of computers, as an indispensable didactic tool for moder ...

CURVES ON RULED SURFACES UNDER INFINITESIMAL BENDING

Najdanović, Marija • Maksimović, Miroslav • Velimirović, Ljubica

Infinitesimal bending of curves lying with a given precision on ruled surfaces in 3-dimensional Euclidean space is studied. In particular, the bending of curves on the cylinder, the hyperbolic paraboloid and the helicoid are considered and appropriate bending fields are found. Some examples are graphically presented.

Analysis of geodesics on different surfaces

Maksimović, Miroslav • Jovanović, Tanja • Ljajko, Eugen • Ivanović, Milica

It is widely known that some surfaces contain special curves as a geodesics, while a lots of geodesics on surface have complicated shapes. Goal of this research is to find on what surfaces are u- and v- parameter curves geodesics. Developable surfaces that contain a given plane curve as a geodesic are studied in the article, whereas the plane curve is also an initial u-parameter curve on that surface. Parametric equations of the minimal surfaces that contain an epicycloid as a geodesic are also g ...

USE OF GEOGEBRA IN THE STUDY OF ROTATIONS

Maksimović, Miroslav • Kontrec, Nataša • Panić, Stefan

With the development of information technologies and educational software, there was a need for research and examination of how and in what way to use them in teaching, without losing the quality of existing traditional methods. One of the goals in this process of finding the most suitable model for the use of educational software in teaching is to motivate students to use them independently. For that reason, this paper explores the possibilities and ways of introducing GeoGebra mathematical sof ...

Some new identities for the second covariant derivative of the curvature tensor

Maksimović, Miroslav • Stanković, Mića

In this paper, we have studied the second covariant derivative of Riemannian curvature tensor. Some new identities for the second covariant derivative have been given. Namely, identities obtained by cyclic sum with respect to three indices have been given. In the rst case, two curvature tensor indices and one covariant derivative index participate in the cyclic sum, while in the second case one curvature tensor index and two covariant derivative indices participate in the cyclic sum.
